This service is currently unavailable due to supply issues with steel HOW TO ORDER CUSTOM GRILLES. 1. Select the grille type from our standard stock (4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm holes). 2. Specify the dimensions, X: horizontal and Y: vertical. We will cut the horizontal first, and the vertical second. We can not produce grilles larger than 1000mm in either dimension as that is the cutting limit of our guillotine. 3. Select the number of grilles, and then add grilles to the shopping basket to make payment. 4. We will cut your grilles (normally within one working day) and send them out to you. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE CUT - GRILLES CAN NOT BE CANCELLED OR RETURNED FOR REFUND. |
SHEET SIZE. Standard stock is 2000mm x 1000mm and our maximum cutting dimension is 1000mm as that is the size of our guillotine. We can not produce grilles larger than 1000mm in either dimension. Please note also that the stock sheets have a margin approx 5-9mm wide at the top and bottom of the sheet (along the 2000mm edge) which is unpunched (see image to the left), this usually leaves a maximum of 982-990mm available as the maximum vertical size (unless you are happy to keep the margin). The most efficient use of a sheet is usually obtained by having Y close to a neat multiple which adds up to 1000mm. Y of 330mm will allow 3 grilles vertically with minimum waste, or 495mm will allow 2 grilles vertically with minimum waste. If your Y dimension is greater than 500mm and your X dimension is less than 500mm, try flipping them for a more efficient cut. |
CUTTING. We cut to the pattern of the perforation, and aim to cut in the center of the holes as this leaves the tidiest edge,as per the image on the left. Cutting close to the edge of the circle produces razor sharp spiky points which are not safe to handle (see image on the right). This means we can not always cut to the exact dimensions you require and need to round down a millimetre or two. When supplying dimensions, please supply the maximum size of the grille, and we will adjust this down slightly to the nearest appropriate position in the perforated pattern. We work on the basis that a slightly undersize grille will still fit, a slightly oversize grille will not.
Tolerance +0mm - Half pitch to nearest millimetre (eg for 8mm sheet pitch is 11mm so -6mm) | ||
Due to variable demand for powder coating extended lead times of up to 6 weeks are possible. Minimum batch size is normally a minimum of 20 medium sized grilles, so we have to make up a batch from orders from several customers before we can proceed. |
